Homework can be fun!

I had to make a movie for my technology class with one of my friends in the class. I am the narrator in the movie- go me!

God bless the USA!

I am a proud Texan and it sure means a lot to me to come from a great place like Texas. However, I am even prouder to be an American. I love the freedoms and choices I get to make everyday. I love this land and I am grateful for all those risked their lives for my freedom. I also remember 9/11 and the impact it has had on our nation. I am grateful that Americans came together to help one another during such a devastating time.

Loving and Laughing life all the way

My life is so awesome! I moved into a different apartment about a month and a half ago. I have fabulous roommates! We talk and laugh every day! They are so fun! I am currently taking some more classes. I love them! I am taking a dance class (so far we have learned some waltz and quick step). I am even competing in August at a dance competition. I am very excited about that as well as nervous. My new testament class is very interesting! I see more and more clearly how the new testament is The Church of Jesus Christ, but instead of it being about the Latter-day Saints, it is all about the Early-day Saints. This class has helped my testimony grow. My last class is sign language. It has been a very fun language to learn.

Here are my new roommates!!! I had to drive people to Salt Lake for work, so they came up and hung out with me in my break. We saw the Joseph Smith movie and ate at a yummy place called The Lion House!

When life gets you down, JUMP!

When life gets you down, JUMP! That is precisely what I am doing. I am extremely homesick lately. I have a bad case of it. I start to think of home and how wonderful it is and the next thing I know the tears have started again. I miss it so much! Also, I feel like Satan is working overtime on me, telling me I am doing nothing right and that I can't make a difference. Well, now I am going to jump!! I started by walking home from class listening to music. (Music puts me in a good mood.) I even started dancing through the parking lot back to my apartment. I am determined to make it through the next two weeks until I get to go HOME!!!!!!! I am determined to have a good day!!!!

Free at last!

Finals are done! Seven more classes done!!!! I've learned so much this semester about teaching and just about life! I have been doing whatever I please whenever I please yesterday starting yesterday afternoon, and it feels great! I got to see one of my cousins and her family yesterday. It was so awesome! We even had steak for dinner! Yum- one of my favorites! Then I came home and went country swing dancing. I love it! Today I am headed to the JFSB (building on campus where you can get on the roof- there are benches and stuff up there) to fly off paper airplanes with my a few of my friends in my ward. Random and fun! I did it last year, and it was so fun. Well, I got to go!

It's been fun (and stressful), but it is time to move on.

This week is FINALS WEEK!!! Yikes! Where did my semester go? So, I have been busy trying to get everything done my teachers want me to do. I have made a clay puppet, an Indian medicine wheel that took HOURS to finish, write and rewrite some papers (my english teacher really likes revisions), and hours of children's literature homework. Plus, millions of other stuff. Tomorrow is my last day, and I am sad to see some of my classes go. I have two more finals and then I am DONE!!!! (At least for 5 days because then I start spring term classes.)

One thing that I have started doing along with my busy schedule is to learn some ballroom dance. I LOVE DANCING! It makes me so happy! A guy in my ward teaches dance lessons to people in our ward for FREE! (and free is a college student's favorite word) This past weekend we got all dressed up and went dancing at this ballroom thing in Salt Lake. It was so fun! I am also excited because I get to go Country Swing Dancing tomorrow night! What a great way to end finals week! Well, I better run and do my last assignment for my final tomorrow.

Life is an ocean…the way you sail is your choice!

This semester has been very busy and lately very stressful (midterm time!). I survived; it was a miracle. Seriously! Since I am in the elementary program now, I get to take classes in my major and boy oh boy do I love them!

Monday and Wednesday: My favorite is Drama in the elementary classroom. We learn how to teach subjects in a cool way. Every time our class meets, we laugh and learn. I love it! My next class is an English class. Right now we are in the process of writing a 12 page research paper. Luckily, our teacher believes in doing it in groups because "when you are a teacher, the principal will ask several of teachers to write..."--I love the way my teacher thinks. Too bad all of our assignments in this class aren't in groups. After this paper, I think we are going to get into how to teach English more.

On Tuesdays and Thursdays, I have a Math concepts class. A couple weeks ago (they all start running together), we learned about the base 10 number system we use (1,2,3,4,5, etc). Well, in class my teacher decided we needed to learn about other number systems so I had to learn how to count in base 5, base 12, base 2, etc. It sure made me grateful that we only had to teach base 10. In the base 2 number system, there are only 2 numbers: 0 and 1. Try counting to 20 in 1's and 0's. My life will never be the same again! lol :) My music class is the most relaxed of all them in regards to not a lot of work. We did have to illustrated a picture book for it, but that is the only major assignment that will take hours to do. The rest are small assignments that don't take too much time. (yay!) I also have a D&C class. My teacher is awesome! He knows the scriptures like the back of his hand. He just recites scriptures all the time off the top of his head. It is amazing! My children's literature (probably my second favorite class) is 3 hours long on Tuesday nights. It is a little hard to sit still, but my teacher rocks. I just turned in (last night) my readings of the 40 picture books we were required to read. Plus, we have to read 16 chapter books which usually consist of about 200 pages. Let's just say the class keeps me busy! So, on Tuesdays I go to class for 7 hours. So, I am exhausted when I get back to my apartment.

On Fridays, I have English again and a 3 hour art class.  Sometimes this class is fun and other times the class seems to drag on.   We have loads of projects for this class which take a lot of time to get done, but it is still a cool class.

I also started working this semester.  (I think I bit off more than I can chew.  Oops!)  My work is very flexible hours and random events such as taking sports’ teams to the airport or taking tickets at dance, etc.
